Carla Lovell Appointed Tennessee State Chair-Elect of the American College of Trust and Estate Counsel

Carla Lovell was appointed to serve as Tennessee State Chair-Elect at the fall meeting of the American College of Trust and Estate Counsel (ACTEC). Carla will succeed Marshall Peterson of Kennerly, Montgomery & Finley P.C., Knoxville, Tennessee, and will formally take office as Tennessee’s State Chair at the ACTEC annual meeting in March 2026. The State Chair’s duties include the cultivation and nomination of new Fellows for election to the College, communicating with Tennessee Fellows regarding ACTEC happenings, and participating in ACTEC regional and national meetings.

Carla focuses her practice on trust and estate planning and administration. In her estate planning practice, Carla’s sophisticated yet practical guidance help individuals, families, and business owners protect a lifetime of hard work and lay the foundation for a secure future. In connection with estate and trust administration, she assists beneficiaries with their interests in trusts and estates and regularly represents executors and trustees in probate and estate and trust administration, ensuring they understand their duties and responsibilities and fulfill their roles in accordance with the law and the governing documents. In addition to being recognized as an ACTEC Fellow, the Chambers USA High Net Worth Guide has ranked her Band 1 for her work in Private Wealth Law, Best Lawyers in America® has recognized her in the area of Trusts & Estates, and Mid-South Super Lawyers has named her in the area of Estate Planning and Probate.
