The American College of Trust and Estate Council (ACTEC) meeting will be held at the Peabody Hotel in Memphis, Tennessee April 26 – 28, 2019. Ms. Lovell, Blaine Smith of Bass Berry & Sims, and Commissioner Greg Gonzales of the Tennessee Department of Financial Institutions will discuss private trust companies in Tennessee. Ms. Lovell is one of only a few Tennessee attorneys who has formed a Private Trust Company (PTC). The session will offer an introduction to the  Tennessee Private Trust Company, including a discussion of the reasons why a wealthy family might choose to form a PTC, the requirements and formation process for a PTC in Tennessee, and best practices for structure and governance of a Tennessee PTC.
