Sherrard Roe Voigt & Harbison Celebrates Diversity With Month of Programs

Sherrard Roe Voigt & Harbison believes law firms must take significant leadership roles in cultivating, supporting, and championing diverse and inclusive workplaces. The firm’s Diversity, Equity & Inclusion (DEI) Committee comprises a group of attorneys and professional staff who recommend and implement strategic initiatives and programs that result in a more diverse, equitable, inclusive, and just environment where all individuals may succeed and advance.

The firm recently concluded its annual Diversity Month programming as part of that commitment to education and awareness. People in the firm engaged in community and conversation around various aspects of diversity. We began with a community service event where SRVH attorneys, professional staff, and their families volunteered with Second Harvest Food Bank of Middle Tennessee. We are proud to be a longtime supporter of this very worthy organization.

Next, we hosted a luncheon where Ryan Holt, Laurel Newman, and Eric Osborne discussed our work with the Tennessee Innocence Project. They also spoke about a few current pro bono cases that disproportionately impact people in underserved and underrepresented groups. We have a proud history of handling significant civil rights cases and are steadfast in our continued commitment to do so.

Diversity Month concluded with a Pride Panel, presented to a packed conference room. Newman and Professor Regina Hillman led a discussion of LGBTQIA+ legal issues and shared ways to promote understanding and awareness.
