SRVH Welcomed Acclaimed Author Keel Hunt to Speak About His Newest Book

Sherrard Roe Voigt & Harbison welcomed famed author and journalist Keel Hunt to their office for a moderated discussion on his latest book, “A Sense of Justice: Judge Gilbert S. Merritt and His Times.” A Nashville native, Hunt has enjoyed a celebrated career in journalism, working as a reporter, editorial writer, city editor, and Washington correspondent. In addition to his four published books, he is a columnist for The Tennessean and maintains “Field Notes,” his popular blog examining politics, government, and culture.

A biography of the late Judge Gilbert S. Merritt, Hunt’s “A Sense of Justice” provides a comprehensive view of this colorful, highly respected, and influential figure in Tennessee law. Judge Merritt served on the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Sixth Circuit for nearly 44 years. He also served as the U.S. Attorney for the Middle District of Tennessee in the late 1960’s and taught at Vanderbilt law school for many years.

The luncheon program held in the firm’s office offered SRVH professionals the opportunity to hear Hunt speak about his latest book and learn about his distinguished career in journalism. Member Amy Mohan, a former law clerk to Judge Merritt, moderated the discussion.
