Sherrard Roe Voigt & Harbison proudly supports the Nashville Public Education Foundation (NPEF). The NPEF is a nonprofit organization that raises private dollars to support teachers, champions successes, and advocates for change for Metro Nashville Public Schools. Tom Sherrard is one of the founding members of the Foundation and remains on the Board today.  The 17th Annual NPEF Public Schools Hall of Fame virtual event is on September 29, 2021.

In 2009, Tom received the Nelson C. Andrews Distinguished Service Award.  A few years later, at a Public Schools Hall of Fame event, the NPEF established the Thomas J. Sherrard Inspiring Innovation Award.  View past NPEF Hall of Fame honorees here.

Each year, NPEF honors organizations serving Nashville students and the community in unique and meaningful ways with the Thomas J. Sherrard Inspiring Innovation Award. The 2021 Inspiring Innovation award honorees are BeWell in School and FUTURO.

BeWell In School teaches mindfulness and movement as a proactive behavior management system to empower students, teachers, and communities with tools to self-regulate. FUTURO is an inclusive college success and professional development organization primarily serving Latinx students between ages 18 and 27.
