Eric Osborne Named Recipient of Nashville Bar Journal’s Article of the Year Award

Firm member Eric Osborne was honored with the Nashville Bar Journal’s Article of the Year Award for his feature on “Democracy, The Justice Gap, and Preserving the Rule of Law,” co-authored by DarKenya Waller, Executive Director of the Legal Aid Society of Middle Tennessee and the Cumberlands, and published in the Summer 2024 issue of the Nashville Bar Journal. Eric and DarKenya presented the article as a CLE topic earlier this year at the Nashville Bar Association’s Voices of Democracy Law Day.
The Article of the Year Award recognizes “excellence in research and writing and is presented annually to the author(s) of a substantive article published in the Nashville Bar Journal while exhibiting originality, relevance to the local legal community, and timeliness.” The award was presented to Eric and DarKenya at the Nashville Bar Association’s Annual Banquet & Awards Program on Thursday, December 12, 2024. Eric Osborne focuses his practice on contract disputes, white-collar criminal defense, antitrust, and civil rights cases. He has briefed multiple matters before the Supreme Court of the United States and has tried over a dozen jury trials. For the last five years he has served on the Emerging Leaders Council for Legal Services Corporation (LSC), the “independent nonprofit entity to which Congress allocates funding to ensure that civil legal services are made available in every county of the United States,” bringing attention to the Justice Gap and the lack of funding for legal aid. He teaches Contracts at Nashville School of Law and has served on multiple local and national boards. He is a graduate of Amherst College, Princeton Theological Seminary, and Stanford Law School.
