Sherrard Roe Voigt & Harbison was thrilled to be named for the second time to the Nashville Business Journal’s class of Leaders in Diversity. The firm was chosen as an Outstanding Diverse Organization – Medium Size Private Company. The firm is part of a class made up of individuals and organizations who are excelling in advancing diversity, equity and inclusion (DEI) practices in their workplaces.
“We recognize that there is a human instinct to resist change, particularly in a highly charged social and political climate,” said Chief Operating Officer, David Rue, who accepted the Nashville Business Journal award on behalf of the firm. “As DEI efforts have gained traction and demonstrated the material benefits of elevating diverse members of our communities, we’ve also witnessed the inevitable frustration associated with adapting and modifying our ways of thinking at both professional and personal levels. … It is important as ever that we realize that DEI initiatives present a daily opportunity to grow and improve as organizations and as people.”
The firm attributes much of its success in advancing diversity, equity and inclusion in the workplace to its DEI Committee whose mission is to implement strategic initiatives that cultivate an environment where all individuals can succeed and advance. The firm’s diversity initiatives influence recruiting, compensation and benefits, professional development and training, promotions, and social and recreational programs.
